Accessing DUAL Talk

This page explains how to use Windows NetMeeting to access the DUAL Talk network.

  • Calling rates

    We offer three tariff and routing plans:

    - DUAL Talk Gold
    - DUAL Talk Silver
    - DUAL Talk LCR

    You can choose your tariff depending on your traffic profile and whether your priorities lie with low rates or high voice quality.

    We reward higher spending customers on our "DUAL Talk Silver" and "DUAL Talk Gold" tariffs with discounts of between 5% and 25% depending on their spending levels.

    Reseller and wholesale customers with high volume can use our "DUAL Talk LCR" or "DUAL Talk Silver" tariff.

    "DUAL Talk Silver" customers are eligible for discounts of up to 25 depending on volume.

NetMeeting availability

NetMeeting is available on most Windows installations.  If it is not available on the start menu, then it can be started by finding and launching conf.exe.   If NetMeeting is not installed on your PC, it can be downloaded from www.microsoft.com/windows/netmeeting/.

Fixed IP address

If you have a fixed IP address, then you should configure NetMeeting to use DUAL Talk as its gateway:
  1. Make sure the IP address you use has been added to your DUAL Talk account.  If you did not add this address while setting up your account, then add this IP address at the Access Methods area of My DUAL Talk; the online account management system.
  2. Select Tools | Options from the main menu.  Press the Advanced Calling button, and you will see this box:

  1. Make sure that there is no check against Use a gatekeeper to place calls.  Place a check against Use a gateway to call telephones... and in the edit box, enter the DUAL Talk gateway address gw1.dualtalk.com.   Click OK twice to return to NetMeeting.
  2. After you have finished, any calls to IP addresses will still be routed directly their destinations and any calls to telephone numbers will be sent to DUAL Talk.
  3. Dial 123 to make a test call.

Dynamic IP address

If your IP address changes regularly, then you should configure NetMeeting to use DUAL Talk as its gatekeeper:
  1. Make sure that your DUAL Talk account has been configured for dynamic IP addresses.  If you did not do this while setting up your account, then set this option now at the Access Methods area of My DUAL Talk; the online account management system.
  2. Select Tools | Options from the main menu.  Press the Advanced Calling button, and you will see this box:

  1. Make sure that there is no check against Use a gateway to call telephones...  Place a check against Use a gatekeeper to call telephones... and in the Gatekeeper edit box, enter the DUAL Talk gatekeeper address gk1.dualtalk.com.
  2. Click on Log on using my Phone number and enter your authentication number in the Phone number boxThis number should be 1822 followed by your DUAL Talk account number followed by your DUAL Talk password (emailed to you when you set up your account).  For example, if your account number is 200100 and your password is 900100, set the E164 alias to be 1822200100900100.
  3. Click OK twice to return to NetMeeting.
  4. After you have finished, any calls to IP addresses will still be routed directly their destinations and any calls to telephone numbers will be sent to DUAL Talk.
  5. Dial 123 to make a test call.
