Accessing DUAL Talk

This page explains how to use the Sipura range of devices to access the DUAL Talk network.   The Linksys PAP2 uses the same firmware, so these instructions also apply to that device.

  • Calling rates

We offer three tariff and routing plans:

    - DUAL Talk Gold
    - DUAL Talk Silver
    - DUAL Talk LCR

You can choose your tariff depending on your traffic profile and whether your priorities lie with low rates or high voice quality.

  • Volume discounts

We reward higher spending customers on our "DUAL Talk Silver" and "DUAL Talk Gold" tariffs with discounts of between 5% and 25% depending on their spending levels.

  • Wholesale rates

Reseller and wholesale customers with high volume can use our "DUAL Talk LCR" or "DUAL Talk Silver" tariff.

"DUAL Talk Silver" customers are eligible for discounts of up to 25 depending on volume.

  • DUAL Softswitch

This calling service and its online control panels are powered by DUAL Softswitch.

Logging on

  1. Log on the the Admin page of the Sipura using the following URL format: http://a.b.c.d/admin/, where a.b.c.d is the Sipura's IP address.
  2. Click on the Advanced link on the top left of the configuration page.

SIP

Click on the SIP tab at the top of the page.  Change this setting in the SIP Timer Values section:

SIP T1:   1.5

Line 1

Click on the Line 1 tab at the top of the page.  The configuration of Line 1 depends on whether the Sipura has a fixed or dynamic public IP address:

Fixed IP address (use these settings if your IP address is fixed by your ISP)

  1. NAT settings
    • NAT Keep Alive Enable = No
  2. Proxy and Registration
    • Proxy = sip.dualtalk.com
    • Outbound proxy = [blank]

    • DTMF Tx Method = INFO
    • Hook Flash Tx Method = INFO

Dynamic IP address (use these settings if your ISP regularly changes your public IP address)

Make sure that your DUAL Talk account has been configured for dynamic IP addresses.  If you did not do this while setting up your account, then set this option now at the Access Methods area of My DUAL Talk; the online account management system.
